Which one do
you choose?
Imagine walking into a car dealer showroom and saying
“I want to buy a car – here’s my check!”
Is that something you would do?
It’s more likely that you would have first
decided on a make and model. You would discuss the features and
amenities you were seeking, and have a price range in mind too.
Right?
Buying a large tract of land is no different. In
last month’s LAND RUSH™ we explained that autumn is
a great time to buy land. The leaves begin falling, the views open
up, and great hiking weather is at hand. We also suggested that
you Email or call us before making a trip to the mountains to discuss
your land buying objectives. The following are just a few items
that we should discuss before your trip.
• Size – How many acres would you like
to own?
• Price – Give us a range in which you are comfortable
• Location – Have any preferred areas in mind?
• Timeline – How soon would you like to take ownership?
• Features – Want views or streams, open or wooded,
etc.?
• Amenities – Convenience to shopping & restaurants?
• Access – Want road frontage or a private right-of-way?
• Financing – Paying cash or prefer owner or bank financing?
• Planned Use – Hunting, farm, weekend home, family
retreat?
• Commitment – Are you ready to buy or just looking?
Keep in mind that our role when working with land
buyers is to “offer” choices – to expose you to
properties that would meet your objectives. Don’t be concerned
that we’re going to try to “sell” you something
you don’t want. That’s not our style.
Autumn is our busiest time of year – working
with buyers. As a result, please make an appointment 3-5 days before
you arrive to look at land. During Thanksgiving week and throughout
the Christmas/New Year’s holidays, please make your appointment
2 weeks in advance as our schedule fills quickly. We want to spend
whatever time you need to make your decision, thus an advance appointment
will better allow us to serve you.
