Time to Browse ! "
In last month’s Land Rush OnLine, I promised that the leaves
would be turning bright shades of red, gold, and yellow. How was
I to know that Autumn would be late this year and the leaves are
just now turning. I guess it’s Mother Nature at her
best! Nevertheless, temperatures are in the 30’s many
mornings, and real Fall weather is on its way.
So, when are you coming to the mountains for a visit? Many
families come at this time of year to just “browse” – driving
the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping for an ice cream, looking through
antique stores, and just “knocking around”. If
you like that idea, and have often thought about buying land here
in the mountains, why not take time to browse some of our properties.
With our “FREE LOOK!” program – it’s easy – and
you don’t need to call us first. On properties that
have frontage on a state-maintained road, we carefully place bright
orange flagging at the beginning and end of each property corner,
along with one of our “For Sale” signs. We call
these “FREE LOOK!” properties because you’re
free to drive by, stop and look around, or walk on existing hiking
trails without an appointment.
Many properties are not easy to flag, and don’t fall into
the “FREE LOOK” program. Those require an appointment
to see, and we’re happy to accommodate you. The period
from now until December 31st is our busiest time of year. If
you’re planning to make a purchase before the end of the
year, please call ahead for an appointment. While we’d
like to accommodate last minute showings, it just isn’t possible
at this time of year.
In the meantime, please visit our website to look over our inventory
of properties. While many have been sold or are under contract,
we are constantly adding new land parcels. To help prepare

Just remember, once the leaves are on the ground, there’s
usually a mad rush of buyers coming to the mountains. It’s
