Walking in a
winter wonderland!
Yes – that’s what you may be doing when
you look for land in the month of December. The first winter winds
and lowering temps began promptly on December 1st, and will likely
continue off and on throughout the month. Snow is also a likely
event during December.
Does that mean you shouldn’t begin looking
at land right now? Not at all. This is a great time to begin your
land search. The leaves are off the trees, opening up vistas often
hidden by summer foliage. The briars and undergrowth have faded
for the winter, and hiking trails are open and waiting for your
visit.
We do suggest that you plan your attire accordingly.
Jeans and hiking boots are a must. Layered clothing, a warm jacket
or parka (depending on the immediate weather situation), and a good
hat are strongly recommended.
Having said all that, we are able to show you most
of our properties either from a comfortable (heated) 4-wheel drive
vehicle, or on our Polaris Ranger, a comfortable ATV that seats
3+ inside an enclosed cab. Nevertheless, don’t rule out hiking
some of the trails when necessary.
So – are you ready to make a land purchase?
If so, please give us a call to discuss your plans. We normally
require 3-5 days advance notice for appointments, and two weeks
notice for the last 2 weeks of December – it’s our busiest
time of year. We want to spend whatever time you need to make your
decision, thus an advance appointment will better allow us to serve
you.
