THIS MONTH'S TOPIC:

Soul-searching!

In a recent issue of LAND RUSH we offered six logical steps that can lead to a land purchase. To refresh your memory, they were:

Step #1 - Become Informed!
Step #2 - Analyze Your Objectives
Step #3 - Make A Commitment To Yourself
Step #4 - Come To The Mountains
Step #5 - Make An Appointment In Advance
Step #6 - Bring Your Checkbook

Last month, I covered Step #2. In this issue, I’ll elaborate on the third one “Make A Commitment To Yourself!”

This topic gets right to the heart of whether or not you will be making a large land purchase. If you’ve discussed making a purchase, have looked at our website, or have driven around the mountains looking for properties, but have NOT taken step #3, experience shows that you probably will not make such a purchase.

As with other major decisions in life, action usually follows commitment. It rarely precedes it. With that in mind, consider doing some soul-searching to determine whether or not you are truly committed to land ownership.

To arrive at that point, it may help to answer these questions:

1) What are my reasons for considering a large tract land purchase?
2) Are they valid reasons for my family?
3) Am I financially prepared to invest the necessary resources?
4) Do I have a plan and timetable for making a purchase?
5) Who are my decision makers and are we in agreement?

Aside from the usual research, inspection trips, price comparisons, and other activities related to making a purchase, you will ultimately be expected to sign a contract and provide an earnest money deposit once you’ve made your choice of properties. I think you’ll agree that you would never be willing to take that step until you had first made a firm commitment to yourself to complete a purchase.

So, why not begin at the beginning. Take some time to analyze your objectives, your finances, and your purpose for making a purchase. Take time to read “Carolina Dreaming” – our buyer’s manual. You can download a copy by visiting our website at www.ncmountainland.net/manualdesc.html

Then, once you’ve made that all-important commitment to yourself to take action and make your purchase, give us a call at 800/849-9225. We’ll take whatever time is required to help make your land ownership dreams come true!
