In a recent issue of LAND RUSH we offered six logical steps that can lead to a land purchase. To refresh your memory, they were:

Step #1 – Become Informed!
Step #2 – Analyze Your Objectives
Step #3 – Make A Commitment To Yourself
Step #4 – Come To The Mountains
Step #5 – Make An Appointment In Advance
Step #6 – Bring Your Checkbook

Last month, I covered Step #5. In this issue, I’ll elaborate on the 6th and final step – “Bring Your Checkbook!”

OK – so you’ve gone through the first four steps: 1) you’ve learned all you can and become informed, 2) you’ve analyzed your objectives and know what you want, 3) you’ve made a firm commitment to yourself that you are, in fact, ready to make a purchase, 4) you’re ready to make a trip to the mountains and 5) You’ve made an appointment in advance.

Now – it’s showtime! That means you’re planning to show up ready to make a purchase. Obviously, that can only be done if you’ve brought your checkbook for the purpose of providing an earnest money deposit. Does that mean we expect you to make a purchase on your first trip – or else? Absolutely not! But – if you’ve taken steps 1-5 and fail to show up ready to make a purchase, what are we to assume?

If you do find that once-in-a-lifetime, golly-gee-WOW, I can’t live without it parcel of land on your first trip, and aren’t prepared to make a commitment – let’s face it – you probably aren’t really ready. Don’t get me wrong – we’re here to make your land buying experience everything you had hoped it would be. We don’t use high pressure, we’re patient, and we’ll take whatever time is required to find you the right property.!
